Coaches and doctors are top-paid state employees

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Five college coaches and five doctors at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center were the ten highest paid state employees in 2004.

Number 1 on the list is Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops at more than $2.6 million. Oklahoma State basketball coach Eddie Sutton is 2nd at more than $916,000 and OU basketball coach Kelvin Sampson is 3rd at about $820,000.

Former OSU football coach Les Miles was paid just under $820,000.

The next five were doctors at the OU Health Sciences Center with Steven Sullivan paid more than $765,000. Timothy Puckett received nearly $600,000, David Tuggle more than $592,000, Benjamin White more than $560,000 and Paul Francel at just under $560,000.

Tenth is the only woman on the list - Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri Coale at about $504,000.
