UNDATED (AP) -- An Arkansas man dies after his minivan leaves a Sequoyah County road and strikes a tree.

24-year-old Fort Smith resident Pablo Palactos sustained head and internal injuries in the accident Thursday afternoon near Sallisaw. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Palactos' vehicle was headed north on the road when he lost control of the minivan and it hit a tree after running off the pavement.

Troopers say the vehicle rolled twice, throwing Palactos and 21-year-old Rebecca Sequichie out. Sequichie sustained head injuries but was treated and released from a local hospital.

In a delayed fatality, an 88-year-old died after suffering injuries in an accident on Sunday.

Rudolph Constien sustained head injuries when a deer jumped out in front of his vehicle on a Rogers County road near Talala.

Troopers say his car struck the deer, went off the road and struck a mailbox.

Constien died on Tuesday.
