A 16-year-old Tulsa boy is charged as a youthful offender in the brutal rape of a 50-year-old woman. The law requires it, but the District Attorney's office could later charge Kenneth Session, Junior as an adult.
An affidavit says Session also raped the 50-year-old woman with a broom handle "because he wanted to cause her pain." She tried to hit him with the broom when he rushed her. She required surgery and spent two days in the hospital.
Records show the victim later picked Session out of a photo line-up, and he confessed to the crime.
Tulsa Police Sgt Kim Presley: "This is a serious crime. We have a victim who is trying to put her life back together and it's going to take a long time. We want to make sure we have no more victims like her. We don't want this to happen again. If he was charged as an adult, there's a potential it may never happen again."
The DA's office says it's too early in the case to decide whether to charge Session as an adult. If convicted as a youthful offender, he would be released in four years and the case wiped off his record.
