OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Police pursuit policies are being scrutinized following a string of wrecks during chases by several law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma City.
Three people have died and more than 10 have been injured in police chases in Oklahoma City since October 20th.
Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel is a strong supporter of regular law enforcement driver training. Whetsel's wife and 2-year-old daughter died in 1980 when their car was struck by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol cruiser that was pursuing a speeding motorcycle.
Whetsel blames a lack of training for the wreck that killed his wife and daughter. He says no law enforcement driver training was required in Oklahoma before his family's wreck.
