The water main break on 2nd Street downtown, flooded a PSO electrical vault and the basement level of the BOk tower.

Most downtown businesses have power restored, but the BOk tower is closed again today. Crews scrambled to get power to the upper half of the tower to prevent freezing. Inside, the basement of the tower is covered in mud and dirt left behind by the water.

Outside on 2nd Street, city workers have a big challenge, working around all kinds of utilities and sensitive fiber-optic lines. PSO says safety breakers prevented any major damage. Once the building's maintenance workers get things repaired, they can restore power to the tower.

BOk employees can get updates on work arrangements by calling 619-0250. WilTel employees can get the latest work information by calling 547-NEWS.
