OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Governor Henry is asking US Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns to expand a previously issued disaster designation to include all 77 Oklahoma counties because of drought and wildfires.
56 Oklahoma counties were named disaster areas in July. The governor says weather conditions have not improved and prices for fuel fertilizer and other products have gone up.
If approved the farmers and ranches throughout the state will be eligible for low-interest loans and might be eligible for other forms of federal assistance.
