NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- A man wanted in Norman on a felony assault charge was shot and wounded Thursday morning by an off-duty police officer working as a security guard at a Wal-Mart in Norman.
Police say the officer recognized Chad Senne at the store about 1 AM Thursday and tried to arrest him. Police say Senne ran to his car and drove at the officer, who's name hasn't been released.
The officer then fired one shot into the car and Senne stopped and was arrested.
Police say Senne was treated and released at Norman Regional Hospital, then taken to the Cleveland County jail.
Senne was wanted in the stabbing of another man in Norman two weeks ago.
Police say they found what's believed to be crack cocaine and a loaded .45 caliber handgun in the car Senne was driving.
The officer was not injured.
