PSO officials are hoping they have a solution to tree trimming complaints. About six months ago, the company started an aggressive tree trimming plan.
Many customers were concerned, so at a public meeting PSO announced changes to its plan. Now, property owners can hire a private tree maintenance contractor at their own expense.
PSO is also starting a Tree Voucher Program which will help purchase suitable replacement trees. Homeowner Barbara Van Hanken: "I think they've done a good job of responding to a lot of the concerns of all of the homeowners that have been involved in this. And I think it will take some time to see how well this is going to work."
PSO officials are also creating an oversight committee made up of local officials, homeowners associations and horticulture experts.
