OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ State Attorney General Drew Edmondson is warning residents to be aware of potential frauds during the holiday season.
He says Internet shoppers need to be especially careful and protect their financial information.
Edmondson says Internet-related complaints are at the top of consumer complaints his office gets.
He encourages those who buy online to be sure to deal with a legitimate and reputable company using a secure site and to make all Internet purchases with one credit card.
Edmondson says all shoppers should keep all receipts, be aware of anyone looking over your shoulder for personal information and don't leave gifts in plain sight in an empty car. Also destroy documents with personal information such as pre-approved credit cards, don't carry your personal I-D number with you and leave extra credit cards and items with personal information such as Social Security cards, at home.
