OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The body of Robert S. Kerr may be coming to Oklahoma City.

Relatives of the late US senator are considering a move that would exhume Kerr's body from a plot in Ada and move it to the mausoleum at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.

The Senator's nephew Aubrey Kerr says the decision isn't final, but the family is concerned about leaving his uncle's remains on an acreage at the south edge of Ada, which has little supervision.

The two-acre land parcel was given to the city of Ada years ago and has a part-time caretaker to mow and trim.

Robert S. Kerr became Oklahoma's governor in 1942 and was elected by the US Senate in 1948.

He was largely responsible for steering a navigation system that links the Arkansas River to the oceans of the world into the state. He died in 1963.
