OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Advocates for gay and lesbian school students want the Oklahoma City School Board to adopt policies giving those students more protection.
One change the group wants is to add the words "sexual orientation" to the district's policy against harassing students because they say gay students are often targeted for bullying.
District spokeswoman Sherry Fair says, though, that officials have to be careful about naming specific groups.
The board has taken no action on the request.
