OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Eight Oklahomans, including a former governor, a former major league baseball player and an artist, were inducted Thursday into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

They are Andrew Coats of Norman; Nancy Payne Ellis of Oklahoma City; Doctor Gilbert Gibson of Lawton; former Governor Frank Keating of McLean, Virginia; Peter Meinig of Tulsa; Bobby Murcer of Oklahoma City; Edward Ruscha of Venice, California and Cyril Wagner of Midland, Texas.

Coats is a former Oklahoma County district attorney and Oklahoma City mayor.

Keating was Oklahoma's governor between 1995 and 2003, including during the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing on April 19th, 1995.

Murcer played 17 seasons in the major leagues and was a five-time All-Star and a Gold Glove-winning center fielder.
