OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State Labor Commissioner Brenda Reneau says the number of people injured or made sick while on the job is at its second-lowest level in history.
Reneau says 5.6 of every 100 workers in the state were hurt or suffer a job-related illness last year. The number is up slightly from 5 injuries or illnesses per 100 workers in 2003.
The number of on-the-job injuries and illness has been more than cut in half in the past decade. In 1994 the rate of job-related injuries and sickness was 14.3 per 100 workers.
