Some local students have the "write stuff."
Mimi's Cafe in Tulsa held a Thanksgiving essay contest for 1st through 6th graders. 15 finalists read their essays at the restaurant Wednesday afternoon, competing for three scholarships. The children wrote about what they were most thankful for.
Grand prize winner Kassidy Franks says she's thankful for a lot, so narrowing it down was tough. "Well, I couldn't really choose between my family and friend cause I love them both. So I did my relationships so I could do my teachers, neighbors, pets and everything."
Kassidy receives a $1,000 scholarship. Mimi's treated all the finalists and their families to a Thanksgiving feast.
