MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) _ Testimony is to continue today in federal court in Muskogee the sentencing hearing for a man convicted of killing an Oklahoma state trooper in 1999.
Kenneth Barrett was convicted November 4th of killing Trooper Rocky Eales while Eales took part in a drug raid on Barrett's home in Sequoyah County. Prosecutors are asking for the death penalty.
Defense attorneys rested yesterday after calling 13 witnesses, including Barrett's parents, brother and his ex-wife. Barrett did not testify.
The prosecution will present rebuttal witnesses beginning today.
