OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A state lawmaker says he'll file a bill to require state workers to report illegal immigrants who they discover on the job.

Representative Kevin Calvey of Del City says a training video instructs Department of Human Services workers to only contact federal immigration authorities to verify whether a person can legally collect benefits.

Calvey says the video states that Oklahoma DHS employees apparently aren't supposed to notify immigration officials if they suspect a client is violating federal immigration laws.

Under the bill, state employees would report suspected illegal immigrants to US immigration and customs enforcement agents. It would be up to that agency to enforce the law.
