McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- Pittsburg County authorities say an inmate in the county jail has died.

Sandra Long died Saturday, about ten hours after being arrested for damaging a motel room and refusing to pay her bill. Officials say Long was put in an observation cell after admitting taking methamphetamine and because she was fighting with jail officials.

A jailer says Long was checked on about 20 minutes before she was found unresponsive in the cell.
