EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) _ The former Eufaula police chief and his wife received a two-year deferred sentence after entering a plea on felony child stealing and perjury charges, Muskogee District Attorney John David Luton said.
Larry, 56, and Carol Osmond, 52, were accused of stealing their 4-year-old granddaughter, Christyn Luster, from the child's paternal grandparents and hiding her for several months, records show. Larry Osmond also was charged with perjury after he told a judge he didn't know the whereabouts of Christyn or Shannon Luster, his stepdaughter.
A Texas court had given custody of the child to her paternal grandparents.
