OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A study shows that Oklahoma households had the highest rate of hunger in the nation in 2004.
The study conducted by the Center on Hunger and Poverty shows Oklahoma's rate of 5.6 percent topping South Carolina's 5.5 percent.
From 1999-2001, Oklahoma's rate was the ninth highest nationally at 3.8 percent.
Oklahoma also ranked fourth nationally in ``food insecurity.''
Texas was first in that category, Mississippi was second and New Mexico was third.
