The newspaper carrier charged with assaulting a 75 year-old woman in her home on Friday, has made some startling confessions to Tulsa Police detectives.

News on 6 anchor Tami Marler says police didn't even know they were looking for a serial killer, but if 64-year-old Paul Williford is telling them the truth, they may have found one.

Victimâ€™s granddaughter, Tracy: "I called 911 immediately and was trying to get a response out of her and out of the corner of my eye, a guy runs by. I started chasing him and he ran to a car and got in and took off." If it weren't for Tracy, Tulsa Police might never know about Paul Williford, the newspaper carrier who was charged Friday with sexually assaulting and trying to strangle-to-death Tracy's 75 year-old grandmother.

Tracy came to her grandmother's house just in time. "She was unconscious. She was unconscious next to a full tub of water, so I don't know if he was going to put her in it or what. I thought maybe she had gotten out of the water and slipped. That's what I had thought." That would be a logical conclusion if Tracy were to come home a few minutes later and find her elderly grandmother, dead in her bathroom. Why would anyone believe someone would strangle an elderly woman to death?

"Friday, when he was originally arrested for this other assault, he alluded to 'well there have been others' something like that. Then he didn't want to talk anymore." Tulsa Police Captain Tracy Crocker says, after Williford was booked for the assault on Friday, he contacted detectives again. He told them somewhere on the route he contracted with the Tulsa World, near Garnett and 16th and 21st Streets; he murdered two women in the last four weeks.

Tulsa Police identified the victims as 75 year old Geraldine Lawhorn and 73 year old Donna Stauffer. Captain Tracy Crocker: "However we didn't have those cases as homicides, so we're having to look those cases up, see what went on with that, get with the ME's office and basically look to see if we can corroborate his story to see if in fact they were homicides."

The medical examiner is taking a second look at the deaths of the two women, Tulsa Police say Paul Williford has admitted to killing.

Williford served time in state prison for felony assault, robbery and weapon convictions in the '80s and '90s. He's currently in the Tulsa County jail on $1-million bond, while authorities try to determine whether these other two women were murdered.

In a statement, Tulsa World publisher Robert Lorton III says as each revelation in this case comes out, â€œwe all feel the public's shock and dismay because we're feeling it, too.â€ He also said, â€œWe want every family member involved in this tragedy to know that we're doing everything we can to help in this investigation. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with each of them.â€
