LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- The father of an Oklahoma City bombing victim brought his anti-death penalty fight to Nebraska Friday and says it's time for the state to do away with capital punishment.

Bud Welch has become an outspoken and prominent death penalty opponent in the years since the 1995 bombing that killed 168 people, including his 23-year-old daughter Julie.

Welch came to Nebraska at the request of Nebraskans Against the Death Penalty and says his goal is to get the death penalty abolished in every state.

38 states, including Oklahoma, currently have the death penalty.

Nebraska is the only state with the electric chair as its only means of capital punishment. Three people have been put to death in Nebraska since executions resumed in 1994.
