A Claremore woman is free on bond after lying about being a hurricane victim to get federal money.

Kimberleigh Price has been charged with one count of obtaining money by false pretenses. She tried to cash a FEMA assistance check for $2,000 at a Claremore check cashing store using a different name. An employee at the store remembered Price from a previous visit, and called Claremore Police.

Price faces a $5,000 and 10 years in prison.
