OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma National Guard soldier remains hospitalized after being injured in a traffic accident in New Orleans where the Guard was helping in hurricane relief.
Staff Sergeant Chester Richards of Oklahoma City was injured September 12th when a civilian vehicle crashed into the Humvee Richards was riding in.
Military officials say only that Richards spent several weeks in intensive care and it isn't known if he'll fully recover, but information about his current condition wasn't available.
About 23-hundred Oklahoma Guard troops returned this week after spending a month in New Orleans helping search for survivors and restore order in the hurricane ravaged city.
