OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A renovation project on the historic Mid-Continent Life Insurance Building in Oklahoma City begins.

The building will be the new home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, a new state-of-the-art Oklahoma Heritage Center and the Oklahoma Heritage Association.

Renovations include an outdoor garden with two, glass waterfalls and talking hologram images inside the heritage center.

Lead architect of renovations Rand Elliot says he hopes to attract the young and old alike with the changes.

Other additions include air conditioning, improved fire protection, new computer cabling and lighting and event space on the fourth floor.

The neoclassical structure was built in 1926 and designed by Solomon Layton. Layton also designed the Oklahoma State Capitol.
