Investigators say an explosion in a north Tulsa neighborhood, which destroyed a trailer home and several small outbuildings, is a case of arson.
The explosion rocked the neighborhood in the 700 block of North Toledo around 2 PM Wednesday. The explosion leveled everything on the property and damaged a home next door.
Neighbors say the trailer was abandoned, but frequented by transients. No one was inside at the time. The explosion was heard as far away as the University of Tulsa and the smoke could be seen for miles. Witness Tim Piearcy: "Heard a little explosion, saw smoke, by the time I got out of my house it just blew up, 70-80 feet in the air, a big ole fireball."
Officials say the gas had been turned off at the property for some time.
