TULSA, Okla. (AP) Doug Bernier's RBI keyed a 5 run first inning that put Tulsa ahead for good in a 7-3 Texas League victory over Springfield.
The Drillers (30-29) had already gotten 2 runs off run-scoring singles by Ian Stewart and Matt Miller when Bernier hit a 3 run double to right field Thursday night.
Springfield (22-38) answered with an RBI double in the 3rd from Juan Richardson to bring the score to 5-1, and the Cardinal got another 2 runs in the 5th inning when Nick Stavinoha and Richardson each had home runs.
The Drillers got 2 runs in the 8th inning when Joe Gaetti hit a 2 run homer to seal the win.
Enmanuel Ulloa earned the victory, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs while striking out 7 in 5 innings. Judd Songster got his second save after allowing 1 hit in 2 innings.
Mike Parisi allowed 10 hits and 5 runs in 5 innings for Springfield.
