It was a sad start for students at Sand Springs' Charles Page High School this week. The first day of classes brought news both a teacher and a student had died.

Junior Kevin Dillman died Monday from injuries he received last week when he fell off the trunk of a car driven by another student. The first day of classes also brought news teacher Vicky Bundy lost a long battle with cancer.

Charles Page High School principal Janice Bayouth: "we came back to some sadness which has made a difference for us this week."

Student and band member James Garner: "school was hard but it was nice to know if we needed to we could go out of class and we could go talk to a counselor or we could go talk to one of the youth ministers on Monday in the library."

In addition to the councilors the Sand Springs school district set up a special schedule so faculty and students could attend the funerals without missing work.
