New this year, Tulsa Public School middle school students are required to wear uniforms to school.
It's a decision supported by many parents, but not one west Tulsa mom. Rose Woods' son Joseph went to school Monday without a uniform. He was told he could come back once he got a uniform.
Rose Woods doesn't like the new policy. She says uniforms aren't necessary and she is even considering moving to another school district. "It takes away their identity we take away their identity if you take away their clothes, basically."
Most of the parents and grandparents we talked to say they are in favor of uniforms. They say uniforms help to eliminate clothing peer pressure.
