PURCELL, Okla. (AP) -- A Purcell man is being ordered to stand trial on murder charges in the brutal killing of a 10-year-old Purcell girl.
Kevin Underwood was bound over for trial Tuesday in McClain County District Court on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Jamie Rose Bolin and formal arraignment is scheduled for September 20th.
Prosecutors have said they intend to seek the death penalty.
The girl lived with her father in the same apartment complex as Underwood. She was reported missing on April 12th after failing to return home from a trip to the library.
Her body was found nearly decapitated inside a plastic tub in Underwood's bedroom closet.
Authorities later revealed grisly details of the crime, saying Underwood raped the girl's corpse and planned to eat her flesh.
