Several homeowners are still wringing out, after Saturday night's storm. Heavy rains and powerful winds knocked out power to thousands. And flying debris punched holes in several roofs.
News on 6 reporter Ashli Sims talked with a Broken Arrow couple facing thousands of dollars of damage to their brand new home.
It's a heartbreaking sound for homeowners Gwen and Darrell Davison. They have to stand by as their brand new house is being ripped apart, baseboard by baseboard.
Gwen Davison: "its nice everything the way I wanted it, did it just the way I wanted it, but not now."
What started as a thunderstorm outside, ended up being a flood inside. "And it was just, just gushing out of all the light fixtures, the speaker the theatre projectors, everything."
Saturday night's storm packed heavy rains and powerful winds that snapped trees and knocked out power to thousands. Crews spent the day clearing limbs and repairing downed lines.
Flying debris might be the cause of a gaping hole in the Davison's roof. "All we thought was it was a regular storm we weren't expecting the rain and everything to mess everything up."
And its the rain that did most of the damage, their insulation is sopping wet, carpets are soaked and the waters dripped down through the walls to the ground floor. "In shock, that's about it."
Now the Davison's are facing an even bigger problem fighting off mold. But Burgraff Restoration is on the job.
And as hard as it is to see holes in their brand new ceilings, the experts insist its for the best. Gwen Davison: "they said it will look like new when they finish, I hope so.â€
