SULPHUR, Okla. (AP) _ A man and woman from Roff were killed early Saturday when the Jeep they were riding in crashed into a tree.
David Torres, 20, and Luzi Torres-Barcenas, 22, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened about six miles south of Sulphur on U.S. 177, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Torres was northbound about 5:15 a.m. when his 2003 Jeep ran off the road and slammed into the tree, the OHP said. The two were pinned inside the vehicle for about two hours, troopers said.
Neither victim was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
In a separate double-fatality accident near Shawnee, the OHP on Saturday identified the victims as Payoa Rogers, 56, and Umporn Thomas, 52, both of Oklahoma City.
The two were killed Thursday night when the vehicle they were in collided with a Pottawatomie County Sheriff's deputy's patrol car. Deputy Brian Scott Wilcox was treated and released for minor injuries.
