Tulsa Police are looking for a man who hit a 16-year-old girl with his truck Thursday morning and then took off. Police say he was angry because she wouldn't get in the truck with him. It happened around 7:30 AM Thursday.
News on 6 reporter Jennifer Loren says investigators say the 16-year-old girl was walking near 4th and Yale when a man in a truck asked her -several times- if she wanted a ride. She continued to say no. But he continued to bother her. Then, they say at the intersection of 4th and Vandalia, the man hit her with his truck and sped off.
The girl was taken to the hospital. We're told she has a broken foot, but neighbors who came to her rescue fear it could have been much worse. Tom Emery: "She said please don't let him get me. Evidently he was trying to pick her up. I determined that he was trying to pick her up even after he hit her."
Tulsa Police are investigating this as an assault with a deadly weapon. They're checking the sex offender database for anyone matching the man's description.
They say he's a white man in his 40s. He was driving a light-blue and white older model Chevy pickup with a dent in the side door.
