OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State Treasurer Scott Meacham says state revenue collections rose for the 18th month in a row last month -- the first month of the new fiscal year.
Meacham says strong revenue collections reflect growth in Oklahoma's economy. He says the state has recorded year-over-year improvements in every major tax category.
Collections for the state's General Revenue Fund totaled $410-million, up $28-million from a year ago and $15.7-million above official estimates.
Income taxes in July were up 8.4 percent from the prior year, sales taxes increased by 4.3 percent and gross production taxes rose by 3.7 percent.
