Teamwork was the focus for the Tulsa Police Department Monday as 20 new recruits and their instructors participated in the Tulsa Public Schools ROPES course.

The ROPES course offers team building exercises, like all these people working together to balance a giant teeter-totter. It also builds trust among the rookies since they'll find themselves in life or death situations together.

Coordinators hope the ROPES course will strengthen confidence and team-building skills.

The training's curriculum not only meets requirements for state certification, but also teaches the recruit’s problem solving techniques.
