STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State's associate athletic director for compliance is leaving OSU.

University officials said in a statement yesterday that Rick Allen's resignation will be effective August 31st. He has worked at Oklahoma State since October 1997. Before that, he spent 17 years working in Illinois' athletic department, working with NCAA rules compliance issues.

Allen says that one of his reasons for making the decision to leave is that his son plans to play baseball at Missouri. He also says he and his wife are ready for what he calls the next chapter in their lives.

OSU President David Schmidly and athletic director Mike Holder praised Allen's work at the university and said OSU would conduct a national search for Allen's replacement.
