A scare for a Broken Arrow football player and his family, after he suffers from heat exhaustion.

15 year old Josh Hanes was rushed to the hospital during a practice at Summit Christian Academy in Broken Arrow. He suffered heat exhaustion and his core body temperature was 105 degrees.

Hanes' parents are thankful coaches recognized the warning signs. Josh’s mom Susan Hanes: "If it weren't for God he wouldn't be alive. I believe that. And I praise God for the good doctors and nurses here and excellent care he has here you know."

Hanes parents and doctors are urging everyone to be extremely cautious during our intense heat wave.

There are warning signs of heat exhaustion to watch for. They are weakness, vomiting and any changes in mental status like confusion. The person should be cooled down quickly, and then taken to a hospital.
