ENID, Okla. (AP) -- The Department of Defense says a US Army soldier from Enid has died in Iraq.
The military says 30-year-old Staff Sergeant Clint J. Storey died Friday in Ramadi when an improvised explosive device detonated near a vehicle in which he was riding while conducting combat operations.
The blast also killed 22-year-old Sergeant Bradley H. Beste of Naperville, Illinois.
Both soldiers were assigned to the 1st Calvary Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based in Friedberg, Germany.
Storey is thought to be the 43rd Oklahoman to die during fighting in Iraq.
His mother, Carol Storey Inherst of Enid, says the people who killed her son are cowards who plant bombs then go hide in the bushes.
Storey leaves behind a wife, Melissa, and a 4-year-old daughter, Adela. Melissa Storey is expecting another child.
