You may not know it, but Thursday, August 3rd, 2006, is a Rick Couri day.

The Tulsa City Council made the proclamation on the talk show host's program Thursday morning to honor his fundraising efforts.

â€œWhereas Mr. Rick Couri has raised more than one million dollars for the prevention programs of operation aware, by participating in various events, from sitting in every seat in Skelly Stadium to scuba diving at the Thornton YMCA pool to painting the Golden Driller at Expo Square.â€

Couri's fundraising efforts have taken place over the last 20 years. Just last week, Couri was honored as the Million Dollar Man.
