Tulsa kids got to unlock their inner Sherlock Holmes at the Tulsa Zoo Wednesday. The Area Health Education Center teamed up with the Youth Enrichment Program to coordinate the event.
Earlier this week, the Tulsa Police Department taught students about crime scene investigation, interrogation, finger printing and handwriting analysis. So when Briney, the sea lion mysteriously disappeared, it was these students who came to the rescue. The program's goal is to promote health careers by allow children to explore the world of forensic science.
Wanda Holmes with the Area Health Education Center: "The setup actually teaches them how to look for clues and how to think analytically using critical thinking skills."
The students collected evidence and questioned witnesses and zoo workers. Thanks to their hard work, Briney is safe at home in his pool at the Tulsa Zoo.
