A Tulsa man was surprised to find out his sister was in a coma. He saw the story on the News on 6 on Tuesday. The woman has been in a coma for three weeks - but she hasn't been in touch with her family for years.

News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says Elizabeth Green seems unreachable to the outside world, but she is not alone. She dropped into a coma while giving birth three weeks ago in Oklahoma City - and no one knew how to reach her relatives in Tulsa.

The baby's grandparents are at her bedside, but they can't legally make any decisions for her. Elizabeth’s brother Matthew Green: "You know you see everybody else's history on the news, and one day your history shows up you never look for that."

Matthew and Chris Green are two of Elizabeth’s brothers, but they haven't seen her in 9 years. They had some pictures of her, but no idea what had happened to her until they saw it on television. Now Matthew wants to see Elizabeth, and adopt her two children. "We are family we are sister and brother and you have to look out for each other."

Elizabeth has an 8-year-old son and the new baby, Savannah. The grandparents are caring for them until DHS decides where they should live. Elizabeth might not regain consciousness and the baby's father, Charles Holmes, is in jail. Her brother and his wife hope they can help the children.

Matthew’s wife Chonmanekia Green: “I sure would, I would love to adopt those children, raise them nurture them and give them the home that they belong to.” The Greens say Elizabeth has a mental handicap and a history of problems that contributed to the division of the family. But now - they say they want do what they can to help her and her children. “Although we hadn't seen her in years, we still love her, we still miss her, we still care about her.”

Elizabeth lived in Tulsa until a few years ago, but even her family isn't sure what's happened to her in the time since.
