CANEY, Okla. (AP) -- A 9-year-old boy is dead after the four-wheeler he was riding crashed in a field in Atoka County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says James Alexander was found underneath the four-wheeler at the bottom of a small ravine in a field near the town of Caney. He died while en route to a hospital in Durant.

Troopers say the boy was found by his stepfather about 7 o'clock Tuesday night and it isn't known how long he'd been trapped under it.
