OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A final draft containing 10 suggestions from members of a gubernatorial task force considering designs for Oklahoma's quarter is being prepared.
Governor Brad Henry said Tuesday he had not seen a copy of the recommendations. Henry has until Sept. 30 to submit three to five of the suggestions to the U.S. Treasury Department.
"I wouldn't think he would stray too far from what narratives were written up and given to him," said Richard Chadwick, a task force member from Davis.
The task force received written ideas submitted by nearly 1,000 people.
The final 10 suggestions include a drilling rig or pump jack for the oil industry and wheat or corn for agriculture, Chadwick said.
Other suggestions include something to do with American Indians, the state's pioneer spirit and an outline of the state's map, he said.
Treasury Department rules forbid the image of any living person or of a group, such as a specific tribe, he said. The state flag and seal also are forbidden.
The state's quarter is to be issued in January 2008.
