Oklahoma's burn ban is back in place.
Governor Brad Henry made the announcement Wednesday morning. "We've already been through one historic wildfire season and we want to take every precaution to make sure we don't have a repeat of that situation. I'm appealing today to all Oklahomans to respect the burn ban and use common sense."
The ban comes in the wake of a new round of wildfires across the state. Governor Henry says long-range forecasts indicate there is no relief in sight.
He says the ban does include exemptions for charcoal and gas grills and welders.
