BEGGS, Okla. (AP) -- An Okmulgee County commissioner is apologizing after being arrested for drunken driving and says he'll seek alcohol counseling -- but won't resign.
Commissioner Ron Ballard was arrested about 2:15 Saturday morning after leaving a bar in Beggs. He says he was celebrating after winning a primary election last week.
Ballard has a history of alcohol-related arrests including a conviction in 2001 for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
He says the latest arrest won't affect his job performance and that "The roads are still going to get fixed."
