SAND SPRINGS, Okla. (AP) _ A 13-year-old Sand Springs girl has died after the sport utility vehicle she was riding in lost control and hit a tree.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Emily Boswell was riding in a 2001 Suzuki with two other girls when the SUV topped a hill one mile north of Sand Springs, lost control and hit a tree around 7:45 Saturday night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Boswell was not wearing a seat belt.

The 17-year-old driver and a 10-year-old passenger were both hospitalized after the crash.
