TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) -- An early Thursday morning ATV accident near Tahlequah has left a Hulbert man dead.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Christopher Oosahwe died in the accident just after 2:45 Thursday morning.

Troopers say Oosahwe was eastbound on a Cherokee County road when he lost control and hit a tree. Troopers say he wasn't wearing a helmet and died of head injuries after being thrown more than 50 feet in the crash.
