OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A Stillwater man and his daughter are back home after escaping from war-torn Lebanon.

Manny and Jamilah Al-Harake flew into Oklahoma City late Monday.

Jamilah is a senior at Oklahoma State and was in Lebanon to prepare for a government internship. Manny is a native of Lebanon and was visiting family when the Beirut airport was attacked nearly two weeks ago.

The two fled into the mountains before being able to join a US evacuation effort.

They boarded a ship headed for Turkey, but the ship broke down in the Mediterranean Sea for ten hours before being repaired and rerouted to Cyprus.

They finally arrived in the US in Baltimore Monday before flying on to Oklahoma City and arriving late Monday night.
