DALLAS (AP) _ Oklahoma is picked to win the Big 12 South and Nebraska is the choice to win the North in a pre-season media poll.
The Sooners received 23 of 28 first place votes with defending national champion Texas getting the other five votes and finishing second in the poll.
Oklahoma State is picked to finish fifth in the South Division.
OU has 13 starters back from last season's team that went 8-and-4 and beat Oregon in the Holiday Bowl.
Nebraska received 21 of 28 first place votes as the pick to win the North. The Cornhuskers have 16 starters back from last year's 8-and-4 team that won the Alamo Bowl over Michigan.
Iowa State is the choice of five voters and is picked to finish second in the North while Colorado is picked third and received the other two first place votes.
