PSO and OG&E have joined forces to give Oklahoma a power boost.
A new coal-fueled electricity generating unit is being added to OG&E's existing power plant near Red Rock, Oklahoma. The high efficiency coal unit will offer greater efficiency and fewer emissions than other coal plant designs.
PSO will own 50 percent of the new unit, OG&E will own 42 percent and the other 8 percent will be owned by the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority.
The new facility will help support Oklahoma's increased power needs as the state grows. The facility is expected to be up and running by 2011.
