An historic hospital in Okmulgee has received $25,000 from the state’s Centennial Commission.
The building was built in 1922 as the Okmulgee Black Hospital. It operated until 1956.
The award will be used to help renovate the hospital. It will be turned into an historic interpretive and cultural center.
The building should be fully restored for Oklahoma's Centennial in 2007.
